Theresa and I spent the weekend in the Palm Desert to watch the Perseid
meteor shower.  We went to bed on Friday night and then got up at 3am
to head out to Joshua Tree to get away from all the city lights.  We
grabbed our beach chairs and just sat out for 90 minutes.  We saw
something like 20 different meteors so we were pretty excited.  It was a
little difficult to photograph since it was a full moon which was
really lighting up the sky and the stars weren't as bright as they could
have been.  Also right around 4:30am the International Space Station
just happened to be passing over, and I was able to get a shot of that.
During the day it's been really hot here.  The dashboard read 115F.
