Hollywood Bowl - Fantasia

Rita came out for a quick visit.  Why not head to the Hollywood Bowl and listen to music from Fantasia.  They had screens up and played the music along with the cartoons.

Perseid Meteor Shower in Palm Springs

Theresa and I spent the weekend in the Palm Desert to watch the Perseid meteor shower.  We went to bed on Friday night and then got up at 3am to head out to Joshua Tree to get away from all the city lights.  We grabbed our beach chairs and just sat out for 90 minutes.  We saw something like 20 different meteors so we were pretty excited.  It was a little difficult to photograph since it was a full moon which was really lighting up the sky and the stars weren't as bright as they could have been.  Also right around 4:30am the International Space Station just happened to be passing over, and I was able to get a shot of that.  During the day it's been really hot here.  The dashboard read 115F.

Chalk Festival in Pasadena

Ruston invited Jacob, Theresa and I up to Pasadena to check out the chalk festival.  We ate lunch together and then took off to see some art.

Pretty cool stuff.  We came away inspired!  I was thinking maybe a chalk festival in our driveway sometime next summer.

Both Disney World Magic Kingdom and Disneyland in one day!

On May 30th I was able to do something I'd always wanted to try; going to two Disney parks in one day.  In this case though, I wanted to do both parks on either side of the USA.  I also wanted to see how many rides I could get in.  My goal was to go on rides that existed in some form at both parks. 

Theresa and I arrived to WDW Magic Kingdom before park opening, riding the monorail from the Ticket and Transportation center.
