Pizza at Home - Coca Cola Pizza and Sprite Pizza

Sunday is Pizza day and we've got a fun one today! The idea for today's pizza came from Ian. He's been wanting to do this one since January, but we're just getting to it now.

I asked him to come up with his own unique pizza and he decided he wanted to do Soda Pizza! This is the day Ian! On the menu is Coca-Cola marinade ham, Coke-caramelized onions, on a pizza with a Coca-Cola syrup glaze. And also a Sprite pan-fried chicken, with garlic, on an alfredo sauce pizza, topped with lemon-lime zest, and a Sprite syrup glaze.

Michigan - Fun times playing in water

The weather here in Michigan has been a little wild, but there's been some beautiful summer days. The kids love being in and playing in water, and their Michigan cousins were super happy to accommodate them!

85C Cheese Bread

A few months ago, I made 85C breads at home, but I wasn't quite satisfied with how the sweet cream cheese bread turned out. Today I'm going to follow another recipe and try to remedy that. This is 85C cheese bread take 2.

Pizza at Home - Father's Day Favorites, Aubrey's Favorite MOD pizza

Happy Fathers Day! Despite being offered the opportunity to kick back and relax, Sundays are a day for pizza! And why not make some of our favorite pizzas!

We're in Michigan for Father's day and Aubrey has a favorite that she likes to get from a nearby pizza place, MOD pizza. You can think of MOD pizza like a Subway. Tons of available toppings, pick your favorites and then they'll cook it up for you.

The Flowers Explore - Gold Mining in Colorado

It's a big world out there and we're on a mission to explore it. One of the things I've talked about doing for years now (ever since Discovery Channel started showing those gold shows) has been doing some gold mining. Well we're in Colorado and Colorado is a gold mining state!

Known as the Pikes Peak Gold Rush, the 59ers as they were known, came about 10 years after the California 49ers gold rush. People had suspected there was gold in Colorado for a while, but no one could find a substantial deposit. On his way to California, Lewis Ralston stuck his pan in the Clear Creek River and found 1/4 of an ounce of gold ($475 today) in just one pan! From there the cry for going to Colorado was "Pikes Peak or Bust"!

That's where we're at today. Clear Creek. We're going to try our luck and see if we can find our fortune too! And it's not just us! My brother Jon and his whole family are joining us on this adventure!

Pizza at Home - Sweet Summer Corn Pizza

Every week, another new pizza!

As I was walking through the supermarket with Theresa in the produce section, I saw that sweet corn is just coming into season. I bet I could make a pizza out of that!

Saturday Morning Cereals - Dunkaroos Cereal

"How do you do your Dunkaroos?"

I have mine as a cereal with milk!

Happy Saturday! Time for another cereal taste test! This time we're taking a jump back in time to the mid 90s when Dunkaroos cookies were all the rage.

Sydney the kangaroo would tell us that "Dunkaroos are the cookie you dunk with as much chocolate or vanilla frosting as you want!"

Kids Carnival

Part of Ian's online schooling involves some Carnival style games, so one afternoon, Ian and Alli decided they were going to make a carnival for everyone! Gram's basement has lots of stuff in it.

Pizza at Home - Ground Pepperoni Stuffed Crust Pizza

Happy Sunday! It's Pizza Day!

While we're in Colorado, I'm still making pizzas and I'm taking requests! I've made a bunch of pizzas over the last year so there's lots of options.

This week Megan gets to pick. She saw the Ground Pepperoni pizza I made last year when we made the Belmont Shore Stroll and Savor at home, but had a special request. Make it with Stuffed Crust!

Done!

Saturday Morning Cereals - Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chocolate Churros

What's this? A new Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal? Chocolate Churros huh? Well you know what we're going to do, right?

When we tried Cinnamon Toast Crunch, I made my own homemade sandwich bread and we used it to make Cinnamon Toast to compare it to

For Chocolate Toast Crunch, similarly, I made a loaf of chocolate bread, toasted it, and dusted it with cinnamon and sugar

For French Toast Crunch, you guessed it, I made a brioche and we had french toast to eat along with it

The Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch, we made sugar cookies to eat with it

And when General Mills came out with Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros, the kids and I made homemade churros for the very first time to try together with it

And so of course when I saw that these brand new Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chocolate Churros existed, I had to pick up a box, and I knew that we'd be making some chocolate churros to go along with them!

Welcome to Colorado!

We're in Colorado! The first stop on our journey! Colorado Springs is beautiful, especially with Pikes Peak in the background.
