The Flowers Explore - Diamond Mining at Crater of Diamonds State Park - 2021/07/13

Today we've got a special experience planned. We're in Arkansas at one of the only places in the world where the public can mine for diamonds directly from their volcanic source. This is one of the things we've been looking forward to since hitting the road.

Sweet and Fiery Gushers

Another hot candy taste test? Ooh, I don't know about this one. After our last Fiery Five Jelly Belly taste test I'm a little turned off by spicy candy. Sorry for putting you through that Theresa, Jacob, and Matt.

But my brother had other ideas and got me a box of Fruit Gushers Sweet and Fiery.

Gushers are a fruit snack candy on the outside, with a liquid center on the inside. I wonder what part is spicy?

Supporting Team USA in the Olympics with a Red, White, and Blue taste test

After taking an extra year, the Olympics are finally here! Even though we're on the road, we're subscribed to Peacock TV so we can watch all our favorite Olympic sports.

And to kick it off, we're going to celebrate with a Red, White, and Blue taste test!

Creativity with our on-the-go water thermoses

Way back when, Theresa was looking for some water thermoses for us, especially to take with us to Disneyland. I think the deal was that she could get 4 of the regular colors for $32, or she could get 12 of this green color for $31. Guess which one she picked?

We've got no problems with the green color though. The goal all along has been to decorate these with Vinyl using the Cricut cutting machine. And along the way we get to show off some of our creativity!

The Flowers Explore - Crystal Springs Arkansas - 2021/07/12-15

Our fourth stop on this RV adventure is Crystal Springs Arkansas!

Just a short little 1 hour trip from our previous spot at Maumelle State Park. It's nice to have a short travel day.

Pizza at Home - Missouri Wild Blackberry Pizza

I've got a pretty special one today and it's the start of trying to theme the weekly pizza to life on the road. Plus we get to share it with family and friends which makes the whole experience even better!

The Flowers Explore - Maumelle State Park in Arkansas - 2021/07/09-11

Our third stop on this RV Adventure is Maumelle State Park in Arkansas, right on the edge of the Arkansas River. Instead of being a one-night stop, we'll be here for 3 days.

We're leaving Louisburg Kansas, driving through Missouri, and finishing at Maumelle Park near Little Rock Arkansas.

Saturday Morning Cereals - Tropical Froot Loops

Happy Saturday! It's time for another cereal taste test!

Today we're having what Alli considers to be her favorite cereal, Froot Loops, but this time they've changed things around and they've got all tropical!

What tropical flavors are there? Pineapple, Banana, Orange, and Mango. Mmm.
And since normally we compare things to what they're trying to represent, I bought real fruits for us to compare it all against.

Lost Trail Soda Company taste test

We're at the Louisburg Apple Cider Mill in Louisburg Kansas, but it's not just apples that are processed here. There's also a soda that is brewed and bottled right here, in small batches, just waiting for us to taste it.

Let's give it a shot!

The Lost Trail Root Beer is the original, based on original recipe of the great-great-grandfather of one of the founder's of the cider mill.
"I've been lookin' for the Santa Fe Trail for three days now. Met up with some good folks. They give me some grub and somthing to wet my whistle. Say they call it "Root Beer" - been a makin' this brew from root and herbs. Think I'll forget the trail and just settle down here." - Joe Marshall, May 15, 1848.
In the 1990s, a whole line of sodas was created around that one original recipe. Now there's 8 different varieties! We're tasting the original Root Beer, plus a Cream Soda, and a Sarsaparilla Soda. Each costs $2 per bottle.

Lemonade Stand Twinkies

It's our first taste test inside the RV! I was wondering where we might set up for this kind of thing and where I might set up a "product shot". Our dining room table looks like it'll work pretty well now that we've removed the booth dinette.

My brother Patrick bought these Lemonade Stand Twinkies for me and I just didn't get a chance to do all the taste tests together that I wanted before it was time for us to hit the road.

These look like Pink Lemonade to me, so I was trying to think of a good lemonade to compare it to. When we stopped at the Louisburg Apple Cider Mill I saw that they also had different juices and lemonades! Perfect! I can use that for my taste test!

Alli loses her first tooth! 2021-07-14

Alli is excited to finally have a loose tooth! Ian lost his first tooth when we were in Michigan visiting family, and she really wanted to wait to pull it out until more family was around. But this tooth is threatening to fall out on its own, so she's taking charge and today is the day it comes out.

The Flowers Explore - Louisburg Apple Cider Mill - 2021/07/08

For our 2nd night in the RV we're driving through the rest of Kansas and into Louisburg. There we'll stop for the night at the Louisburg Cider Mill!

Continuing our trip, here's where we ended up next. Not too long of a travel day from the Atlas Ad Astra Harvest Host campground to the Louisburg Cider Mill Harvest Host camp ground.
What is Harvest Host? For $99 a year, you get Unlimited Overnight Stays at lots of really cool places! Just like the Atlas Ad Astra facility and tonight's Cider Mill. There's just a couple catches. There's usually no hookups, it's for 1 night only, and you're encouraged to spend at least $20 at the place you're visiting as a gesture of goodwill to the place for letting you camp overnight on their spot.
If this sounds good to you, sign up here and get 15% off (and we get a referral bonus too!).

Scorchin Pringles Taste Test Comparison

Time for more Pringles! Ooh, this time they're all Scorchin! That means some heat, which means I'm really hoping I'm going to like these.

There's three different flavors that have been released. Scorchin Cheddar, Scorchin Chili & Lime, and Scorchin BBQ.

The Flowers Explore - Atlas Ad Astra Missile Silo - 2021/07/07

It's our very first stop on our very first night in the RV! When Theresa and I were repositioning the RV, we had the opportunity to stop by this Harvest Host site with a real Atlas Missile Silo! We would have arrived at 10pm which would have been really late, so we decided to skip it, but make it our very first stop with the kids!

After leaving Colorado earlier in the morning, we spent 5 hours in the car driving to Wilson, Kansas.

Pizza at Home - Pizza in the RV

It's been over a year of Pizza on Sundays, but the question is, now that we're in the RV can it continue?

Yes it can!

The Flowers Explore - Round Lake in Michigan

This one is from a couple weeks ago, but I don't want to forget about it.

All week Uncle Ty has been working on these Jet Skis, just in case we got a chance to use them.

And where are we? Some tropical island in the Caribbean where the waters are turquoise blue? Surprisingly, we're in Michigan, at a place call Round Lake in the town of Horton.

Please welcome two new members to the Flowers family - Beauty and The Beast!

Today is a big day for the Flowers Family.

Today we're officially kicking off a big lifestyle change that has been about a year in the making. Because of COVID, we'd been staying a home quite a bit more than usual. Doing so, we were seeing how much we were enjoying spending more time with the kids, and how quickly they were growing up. So, Theresa and I started making plans to leave all that behind and start something new.

Let's go on an adventure by being a Full-Time RV family!

As for those two new members of the family...

Meet Beauty! She's a 37' Grand Design 5th Wheel with two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, with a kitchen, dining area, and more. Theresa and I, along with help from others, have been getting it ready for the last few months. We've added a Washer and Dryer, Dishwasher, Solar, and a few other niceties to make it more enjoyable. She's really beautiful. Expect more pictures in a separate post.

And meet The Beast! This Ford F350 has the power to haul everything we need as we explore the USA.

Pizza at Home - July 4th - Chili Dog Pizza and Apple Pie Pizza

Happy 4th of July! I always like to try to theme my pizzas to special occasions. Today we're celebrating the birth of our nation and I wanted pizzas that would be "All-American".

I made hamburgers for lunch, and besides I've already made 2 different burger pizzas before

You know what else I think about for a meal on July Fourth? Chili dogs and apple pie. I bet I could turn both of those into a decent pizza!

Moa Burger Pringles

A new Pringles flavor? Yes please! I've never heard of a Moa Burger. I saw these on the shelf of Walmart and grabbed them without looking into the background of what they are.

I thought Moa sounded like something Hawaiian. Maybe this is a Hawaiian themed burger from somewhere. Either way I'll figure something out!

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July! We're in Colorado celebrating with my family!
