Making Leprechaun Traps at our local Chick-fil-A

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner on March 17th. It was just a couple weeks ago that Ian had told me he already started planning his leprechaun trap this year, and this year, he's got special bait. More on that later.

But I was thrilled to see that our local Chick-fil-A is hosting a Leprechaun Trap Building Craft Night! We've come to love our local CFA. This whole year they've been having free give-aways and fun meetup nights!

So when I saw the event post on my Facebook feed, I told the kids and they were super excited to go!

We had a lot of fun on Bingo night last month! And look! We made the TV screen again! We're on the right side, holding our Bingo cards.

Team Leader Alex showing us what we'll be building tonight.
Alli - I remember her from Bingo night!
Yep! She did a good job then too!

We filled our bellies with chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches, and waffle fries. A few weeks ago I let Ian have a bite of my Spicy CFA Sandwich (my favorite) and in a surprise move he's declared that the Spicy CFA Sandwich is his favorite too!
After we finished, and now that the table is clear, Alli collected our leprechaun trap kits.

Thank you Chick-fil-A!

Alli following the instructions carefully.
Ian - Do we have to follow the instructions?
No, you don't have to. Do what you like!

And when they were done, they've got a trap that's perfect for catching any greedy leprechaun that is wandering around.

But what about that special bait that Ian has been saving?
Late 2022, we went back to Wegner's Crystal Mine (still hasn't been written up), and in the gift shop was a small vial of real gold! I think Ian bought it just for such an occasion!

Now who could resist that.

Thank you Chick-fil-A! And thank you Alex, Guen, and the rest of the marketing department at our Four Corners CFA in Florida!

  1. What a fun craft idea...perfect for St. Patrick's Day...nice job Ian & Alli...lots of fun creating the traps!! Like how Ian wanted to be creative and modified the trap to better narrate his plan to capture the leprechaun. Alli looked so serious and intent in following he directions...Alli, you're putting your great reading skills to work! EOM
