Mountain Dew Summer Freeze Taste Test Comparison - 2024 Canada Exclusive

Finally getting around to writing up this summer fun taste test. 

During our summer travels, I came across a special Mountain Dew flavor I hadn't tried before. We were visiting Canada and I found a Canadian Exclusive! Mountain Dew Summer Freeze! 

So we'll be trying that along with what it certainly looks to represent. A red, white, and blue ice pop on the can tells me that this is supposed to taste like the Original Bomb Pop! 

Bomb Pops are three distinct flavors, each separated into their own layer. We've got red cherry, white lime, and blue raspberry on the bottom.

Before they get too melty, let's eat the bomb pop. 

Joe - How is the bomb pop kids? 

Ian - Bomb poppy. 

Joe - Bomb popalicious? 

Joe - Cherry!

Ian - Followed by lime.

Alli - And then blue raspberry. 

Joe - What's your favorite flavor in the bomb pop?

Ian - Blue

Alli - Cherry

Joe - I'm still working my way through Cherry. I have to get to the lime. Lime is my favorite. 

Joe - Oh wow. So Alli likes red, I like white, and Ian likes blue. We couldn't totally split three of these. And all have our favorites. 

Alli - And you have a red shirt on. Ian has a blue shirt on. I have a white shirt on. 

Joe - Any guesses what color it's going to be before I pour it? 

Alli - White.

Ian - Yeah, I think it's going to be white. 

Joe - Oh that's a bright blue! Very very blue!

Alli - What if they change colors? That can might be blue. That other one white. That one is red. 

Joe - That would be something, wouldn't it? So, will this taste like all of them together? 

Alli - It tastes like Jarritos soda. 

Joe - I get Mountain Dew. 
Ian - But what flavor is that? I can't put my finger on it. 

Alli - Lime Jarritos? Or is it the Pina Max Boom Boom? Or the Lime Max Boom Boom? (all taste tests I haven't written yet)

Joe - Maybe a little bit of cherry in there. Definitely the citrus. I get the lemon/lime flavor. I don't know that I get any blue raspberry. 

Alli - What if the color is the flavor that it's NOT!

Ian - I get a frozen cherry. Like a glacial cherry. 

Yay or nay on the Mountain Dew Summer Freeze? 

Joe - I like it. 

Ian - (singing) Why don't you just meet me in the middle? 

Alli - It's between good and okay. 

Theresa would later join us to taste it. 

Theresa - It just tastes weird. Like another weird Mountain Dew soda. 

Joe - Any specific flavors? 

Theresa - A little citrus. No cherry. I don't like bomb pops though.
