It's time to wrap up Day 5 of our around the world Disney trip. We're at Shanghai Disneyland, having done so many fun things already.
It's a Winnie the Pooh ride!
Similar to the Mad Hatter's Tea Cups, here in Shanghai, we're in giant sticky containers of honey!
And we're spinning around in a giant beehive where the ceilings are also dripping with honey.
It's time to spin!
The kids both helped and we got things spinning really fast!
And even after the ride stopped, the brakes weren't pushing on the honeypot that much, so you could still spin it!
Ian - The Sword in the Stone!
Away from the castle a bit, we've found the sword that could determine who the king of Disney for the day is. Ian really really wants to pull it out. He's so optimistic that he'll get it one day.
Ian - You pull there. You pull from there.
You can't say Uncle Ruston isn't trying.
And Alli is giving it her all.
One of these days. But not today.
Alli - Bye sword. See you later. Hope we get you out next time!
Earlier this morning Jacob and I rode Tron, and while it was amazing, we knew that at night it would be even better.
All those vibrant neon colors just pop out in the dark.
Ready programs?
More fun? Definitely! And it was exciting to get to ride it before the one at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom gets built.
Twice today!
Where were Ruston, Theresa, and the kids while Jacob and I were riding Tron? On the amazing Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue! It's an improvement on both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland versions of this ride.
And when you exit, of course you go through the gift shop. That's a pretty adorable pumpkin hoodie.
And Minnie Mouse is cute as well.
Playing with some of the Stitch toys.
And they've been loving that it's near Halloween and the cast members are very generously giving out candy and stickers non-stop.
Some of the Shanghai exclusive merchandise. I ended up picking up a Minnie Mouse beret (though it does make me think more France than China).
It's 6:30pm and it's time to eat dinner. Where though? I've got a list of places I wanted to try while we're here in Shanghai Disneyland and Pinocchio's Village Kitchen was one of them.
And it wasn't for the freshly prepared rice bowls.
It was the Mickey shaped pizza!
Peking Duck Pizza and Prawn and Crab Meat Pizza.
We opted to go with the Spicy Chicken Peanut Pizza which was really good. Peanuts on pizza? Who would have thought.
And the pork and pineapple pizza was also good, as was the ramen bowl. Not bad at all!
It's been a really long day and Theresa, the kids and I are going to head back to the hotel.
On the way out, we caught the short Mickey's Halloween Treat Cavalcade. Starting with Mickey and Minnie.
But followed up by lots of villains! Dr Facilier, Maleficent, the Queen of Hearts, and the best villain of all Hades! Hades Rules!
And after seeing all those pirates, why not go ride Pirates of the Caribbean too!
Theresa and I made it back to the Shanghai Disneyland hotel just as the fireworks were going off.
Yep, she's out. That's fair though. She just turned 3 and it's been a long day. She's been a real trooper.
While Theresa and I walked back to the hotel with the kids, Ruston and Jacob stayed behind to explore a little more. The area by Shipwreck Shore has transformed into a spooky area with pirates transformed by the Aztec gold curse, and more pirates captured by Davy Jones!
This would have been a really fun one to see in person up close, but let's check on Alli real quick...
Ian was awake enough to get a bath and go through some of his nighttime routine. He really wanted to be asleep though. He crawled into bed after getting his jammies on and was asleep not long after.
Earlier today, Theresa's sunglasses broke. The lens popped out and we didn't have a little screwdriver to fix them. She tasked me with figuring it out. I headed to the concierge desk and our friend James from yesterday was there! I showed him the problem and he immediately took charge, ordering someone to go get the right tools and starting to work on it right away. At one point there were 4 different people around, all trying to help in some fashion. A couple minutes later, it was all fixed! I thanked him profusely and he said "Good Teamwork". I think it was a great concierge team (he's a supervisor). They've been everything I would expect from a Disney Resort. He even grabbed a tissue once the glasses were fixed to clean off the smudges.
Lay's Italian Red Meat flavor - Interesting. These had more of an "Italian herb" flavor than a red sauce flavor or meat flavor.
Lay's Roasted Chicken Wing - Definitely getting a BBQ type flavor from them. Maybe a little bit of savory flavor for the "chicken" taste.
Lay's Cucumber Flavor - These are weird. That's definitely not a cucumber flavor that I'm familiar with. The Greek Tzatziki Lay's Chips we had tasted more cucumber-like than these.
Lay's Wasabi Flavor - The first chip I tried, I was waiting for the heat to hit. After the second one, I finally got it. You can definitely taste the wasabi flavor (or horseradish or whatever it really is) and they are yummy! Wasabi is definitely the winner of these four flavors.
And while I'm out, why not stop by the store and see what they've got. What's this? Different Lay's Chip flavors? Uh, let's try those!
Tomorrow promises to be another fun day at Shanghai Disneyland!
