Disney around the World - Day 6 Part 2 - Shanghai Disneyland 2018-10-19

After a fun ride on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Shanghai Disneyland, let's head over to Adventure Isle and take on that one-of-a-kind Challenge Trail!

I like how the land is lush and green with lots of water.

A 40-minute wait for this popular attraction. I'll be carrying everyone's bags, so there's no need to shove things in the free lockers. They make sure you don't have anything in your pockets.

106 centimeters, yep. He's tall enough!

Alli isn't though, so she gets a free stickers.

Yeah girl! Put it on! Those look great!

About 30 minutes after getting in line, they had made it to the front and were getting fitted for their harnesses.

These challenge trails are a lot of fun, but definitely challenging! There's three different paths that you can pick that will take you on totally different adventures. Choose which way to go.
Hidden Falls Chamber – Journey behind a waterfall and deep into the jungle to a mystical cavern, home to the glittering gem-encrusted Temple of the Milky Way.
Echo Cavern – Wind along a perilous river gorge, discover magnificent rock carvings and cave paintings, and hear for yourself how Echo Canyon got its name.
House of the Ancients – Trek to the site of an in-progress excavation, where League of Adventurers archeologists are unearthing an ancient Arbori trading center.

In most locations you can choose to go down the easy path, as Ian is demonstrating.

Or the more challenging path, with swinging logs.

Made it. Good job T.

It might just be a rope course that you could do anywhere, but it's the theming that really makes this place amazing! Climbing in front of a big mountain over a rushing waterfall!

Awesome!

Alli and I followed along underneath while they climbed above us.

Through a big chamber above our heads.

Successfully made it through! Great job!

Then the kids wanted to head to the little adventure's section to climb and play.

It's great that they have this part for the littles. They'd stay here a lot longer if we didn't have other things we were trying to get in.

It's 11:15am but having been up for 6 hours already, I'm hungry! Let's grab some lunch! Over to the Mickey & Pals Market Cafe to get something to eat.

Inside, you move through the line cafeteria style and pick what you like.

Alli has found the plushes, including these small plush Mickey pumpkins. Adorable.

With 5 trays of food and only 4 adults to carry them, a cast member took one of our trays and walked us over to an area with plenty of seating. Very helpful and considerate. Thank you!

I didn't record much about our thoughts on lunch except that the Dumplings were delicious.

My braised pork was very tasty. Love the carrot Mickey.

And Theresa's Tomato Beef Brisket tasted like a Spaghetti-Os sauce. That's a really cute Mickey hard-boiled egg though.

Nothing too fancy about the kids meal, but I do like that they're serving everything on real plates.

The walls of this room are covered with pictures of lots of different Disney characters. Let's take a tour!

Carl Fredricksen, Russell, and Dug are enjoying ice cream (fitting since they did that at the end of UP). Behind them we see Pumba and Timon enjoying a bowl of bugs.

Beast (Prince Adam), Belle, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, and Chip are still deciding what to order, though Beast looks interested in the All You Can Eat Special.

We then see Mike Wazowski, Celia, Boo, and Sulley (Kitty) having a tea party.

Moving over to the next mural, Eeyore and Piglet watch as Pooh digs into a giant pot of honey. Behind them, Stitch is excited for the big turkey that Genie is serving, while Lilo looks on.

Daisy and Donald are sharing a milkshake. Remy and Linguini watch as Anton Ego appears to be enjoying a bite of ratatouille. The Incredibles, Dash, Helen, Bob, and Violet, are celebrating Jack-Jack's 1st birthday with a cake.

Aladdin and Jasmine share tea while Abu stuffs his face with cookies. Joe and Tony serenade Tramp and Lady as they share spaghetti and meatballs.

Minnie, Mickey, and Pluto share a table.

And finally, Wall-e has given Eve a rose from the table.

Those aren't the only characters here though. The walls are covered with black and white pictures of different characters as well. I know I didn't get photos of every set, but let's see how good I am at remembering all their names.
Wall-e, James P Sullivan (Sulley), Mike Wazowski (with one I), Eve, Dash, Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible), Jack-Jack, Helen Parr (Mrs. Incredible/Elastagirl), Violet.

Oliver and Dodger, Merlin, Sally, Jack Skellington, Lock Shock & Barrel, Oogie Boogie.

Jessie, Buzz Lightyear (with his wings spilling into other photo frames), Woody, Dory, Nemo and Marlin, Lightning McQueen, Squirt, Crush, Tow Mater.

Anastasia, Drizella, Lucifer, Jaq and Gus-Gus, Cinderella, Angus MacBadger, Cyril, Mr. Toad.

Bagheera, Shere Khan, Jock, Baloo, Mowgli, Flora & Fauna, Merryweather, Peg, King Louie, Maleficent & Diablo, Prince Phillip & Samson, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Si & Am.

Ursula, Flotsam & Jetsam, Water Rat, Flounder & Ariel, Sebastian, Mole, Scuttle, Marie, and Scrooge McDuck.

Whew!
Rafiki, Mufasa, Genie, Gaston, Lefou, Simba, Nala, Timon & Pumba, Iago, Jafar, Belle, Beast, Banzai & Shenzie, Scar, Ed, Jasmine, Aladdin, Cogsworth, Lumiere.

Yzma, Kronk, Hades (he rules), Kuzco, Pacha, Pain & Panic, Hercules, Meg, Phil.

Elsa, Olaf, Fix-it Felix, Dr Facilier, Mittens, Anna, Hans, Wreck-It Ralph (punching into Felix's frame), Ray, Louis, Bolt, Sven, Kristoff, Eugene Fitzherbert (Flynn Rider) & Maximus, Rapunzel (with her hair taking up 3 frames) and Pascal on the end, Rhino.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie (fishing for chocolates), Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, and you can't forget the ones that started it all Minnie and Mickey Mouse.
That's a few characters. From what I can tell, every single character was drawn by the same Disney animator Eric Goldberg

Continuing exploring the area, just behind our dining room is what looks like an alley. A table is set for Lady and the Tramp with spaghetti.

A further dining room is dedicated to the Fun & Fancy Free style movies and The Three Caballeros, with clips playing on a screen.

And further still is Mickey's Galley.

With a nautical theme.

And a model of Steamboat Mickey.

In another area, we see Donald annoying Daisy with his singing.

And get a look at Donald's fore-feathers, with a history that goes back to 70 AD.

Who wants dessert? I want dessert. The kids have suckers, but I think we need a little more than that.

How about a fresh waffle from the Waffle & Ice Cream shop? I love that the sign boards look like waffles.

Looks like they're making everything fresh!

We ordered a Mickey (turned out to be Minnie) waffle with pumpkin ice cream.

A ham & cheese waffle with bubble iced coffee.

The Minnie waffle was great and the pumpkin ice cream was really tasty! The Ham & Cheese waffle was good, but surprisingly had corn inside it also. There was a cold cheese cup on the side to dip it in, which was surprisingly delicious. It reminded me a bit of an Arby's Melt.
We'll stop there and pick it up from here next time.
