Atlanta Chuck E Cheese and a visit to Truett's Luau - 2026/04/11

We're in Atlanta visiting Six Flags before Alli has her gymnastics state meet, but there's other fun things to do here too!

On Saturday morning, we could have ducked into Six Flags one more time to hit a few more rides, but let's see something else instead. We didn't have too much time at Chuck E Cheese a couple nights ago, arriving shortly before they closed. We enjoyed a lot of the games there, so we decided to come back!

Alli got a top score of 86 a couple days ago. She really hit her groove today and put up a big 92 points! Very impressive!
The Milk Jug toss game that I had hoped to win some big tickets on was very broken. That broken sensor that wasn't registering last time, is the only one that registers today. Swipe your card on the machine and the score immediately starts counting up until the machine thinks you've thrown all 5 balls, without you even getting a chance to throw one!

How are the other games? Alli put up a big 1000 points on Tippin Bloks, which was good for...

3 tickets! Oh my!

So we were back at basketball working on our skills. Alli got on a really good run, suddenly crossing that 100 point minimum to trigger the bonus round!

Wow Alli! 115 points is impressive!
Alli - My arms are so tired! I don't think I'll be able to beat that one.

After taking a little break, 45 minutes later she went on another big run and hit 116! Amazing!

Another mom saw her and asked if she played basketball.
Nope! She's had all her hoop training at Chuck E Cheese!
The mom challenged her to a round for fun to see how she did under pressure. Alli did great putting up another big number.

Ian played the Nerf Arcade alot and was able to win the big Nerf Strike Bonus a few times before it got too high. He's got a new strategy though that he's hoping will serve him well in the future.

The prize counters at different CECs is mostly the same wherever we go, though some seem to have unique smaller prizes. Our local CEC has Haribo Gummy Bears, but this CEC has Albanese Gummy Bears, Ian's favorite! He used a few tickets to buy himself some candy for the car ride. He also overheard another little boy in line behind him who was hoping to get a foam squishy toy but didn't have enough tickets. Ian used his tickets and bought it for the boy, earning big thank yous from him and his mom.

Just a little down the road, we're in Fayetteville Georgia. What's special about that?

It's home to a very unique Chick-fil-A location called Truett's Luau! We've visited here once before and loved it, so everyone was excited to come back for a visit.

The inside of the restaurant is themed like the Pacific Islands. I love it! Truett's Luau has merchandise too.

Christmas ornaments anyone?

If we're going to a luau we're going to need leis. Alli gave me a green one to match my outfit.

And she got a pink one.

Theresa was quick to grab a ukulele next to the host stand and start strumming.

It smells tropical in here. I noticed why, thanks to this scentair diffuser.

At Chick-fil-A of course they have chicken, but I'm hoping to find something unique! I've had a Chick-fil-A burger from the Original Dwarf House Grill, pork tacos, fried okra, sweet potato souffle, corn muffins, brussel sprouts, pineapple fried rice, and more.

We put in our order and awaited the deliciousness to come.

Theresa swapping out her ukulele for another one on the wall.

Playing a few different ones on the wall until she finds the size and shape she likes.

Then we all sang a few songs together at the table while waiting for our food to arrive.

Milkshakes! Thanks Maria!

Last time Alli loved the Frosted Pineapple, while Ian loved the Frosted Hawaiian.

I like the whipped cream and extra texture of the Pineapple Macadamia Nut Milkshake.

The kids and I wanted to wander the rest of the restaurant. There are more musical instruments here too. I shook a tambourine and tapped on a drum.

Alli playing a wooden xylophone.

Heading to the other side of the restaurant where the quick service side of things is.

Here they serve the regular Chick-fil-A menu. Let's go outside!

There's bees at work here.
"The bees are busy making fresh honey"
"Caution Bees at Work. Our beehives are elevated so their flight path is high above our walking path. That way, we both stay out of each other's way!"

There they are, high above the walk path beside the drive through.

Looking toward the restaurant at the waterfall labeled WATERFALL.

And one more with the sign by the outdoor seating.

I think our food is almost here!

Yes! Let's go!

Instead of an entree, I made my meal from an appetizer. These are the Kalua Pork Nachos ($12.85) - Crispy wonton chips topped with roasted Kalua Pork, warm queso, our Signature Luau sauce and garnished with cilantro and scallions.
I really liked the wonton skins versus the chips. They felt lighter and less greasy than tortilla chips. The pork and Luau sauce was very flavorful. I enjoyed it, but next time this would be something I'd want to share with the table. Eating an entire plate of nachos was a little much.

Speaking of a little much, Ian also decided to skip the entree and get an appetizer too. He chose those Big Kahuna Fries ($11.29) - Waffle Potato Fries topped with Chick-fil-A Classic Nuggets, flavorful bacon, creamy queso, fresh pico de gallo and finished with a tropical sauce.
We'd ordered this the last time we were here and loved it. It's so big! He couldn't finish all his either. I really liked all the different flavors going on here and between the Pork Wonton Nachos and this, I'd choose this.

Theresa and Alli knew what they were ordering even before they got here. Last time they loved the Citrus Chicken Meal ($14.79) - Our marinated grilled filet garnished with our fresh pico de gallo and lime. Served with pineapple fried rice and stir-fry vegetables.
Last time we didn't love the pineapple fried rice (too much ginger), so they were able to substitute it for Truett's Luau's amazing Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. They are so so good. But maybe even better (according to the girls at least) are the stir-fry vegetables. A mixture of broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and edamame, Theresa wishes there was a way for Chick-fil-A to serve this at every restaurant! Alli agrees!

Theresa asked for honey to dip her sweet potato waffle fries in and our server Maria quickly brought it out. A short time later she came out again saying that another customer today had asked for whipped cream to dip the fries in, and thought maybe Theresa would like to try it too. Everyone at the table gave it a try and that's a really good combination too. Oof, well with full bellies it's time that we hit the road.

A quick stop at the restroom, and I love that they have themed signs for them.

Alright Ian! Let's go! Just 4.5 hours in the car to Gainesville Florida! On the bike, maybe just a little more.

But seriously, we loved our second visit to Truett's Luau. If you're a Chick-fil-A fan and in the Atlanta area, it's definitely worth a visit. We hopped in the car and headed south.

After checking into the hotel, it's time to eat again. This time Theresa found a Cuban place with good reviews.

Don't mind Ian in the sunglasses. It's bright looking toward the window. We enjoyed chicken and steak with onions, black beans, and rice, chicken soup, and Ian had a very tasty Cubano sandwich.

I definitely enjoyed mine too.
Time to start shutting this down and get to bed. Alli has a big day tomorrow for her gymnastics meet!
