Peeps Cinnamon Churro - taste test comparison

It's time for another Peeps taste test! So far this season we've had Dr Pepper Peeps and Rice Krispies Treats Peeps. Today it's Peeps Cinnamon Churro!

I've made my own churros at home a few times when we made Disney Treats at home, tasted Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros, and Chocolate Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros. Today though, we'll give someone else a chance. I found these Goya Churros with chocolate dipping sauce at our local Target.

The packaging for these Peeps Cinnamon Churro is the appropriate tan color with white shimmering stars.

Sweet Cinnamon Delight - Indulge in the sweet taste of Churro flavor!

How did they do with the placement of the eyes this time? Looks okay on the left side, but as we go on, it gets worse and worse. But on the far right, we have our first Tri-clops!

Three eyes on a Peep!

As for these Goya Churros, making them couldn't be easier. They come in this tray with a chocolate packet (we'll save the chocolate for next time).

They then bake for 5 minutes at 400F.

Seeing as how these are supposed to be cinnamon-sugar churros, I mixed up a batch of cinnamon sugar, gave the churros a quick spritz of oil, and dusted the tops.

Peeps and Churros together. Could it be amazing?

Jacob came over to give it a try with us.

What should we try first?
Ian - Peeps first!
Alli - Me and Ian will split one.
Ian - Why would we split one?

Joe - Oh, they're white inside.
Alli - All Peeps are white inside.
Jacob - No! The Rice Krispy ones were tan.
Joe - And the Blue Raspberry, Watermelon, and Hot Tamales were different colors inside too.

Joe - How cinnamonney will these be?
Ian - Not good.
Alli - They're pretty cinnamonney.
Joe - These taste more like candy cinnamon. Like Red Hots versus regular cinnamon.
Jacob - It's hot cinnamon adjacent.
Alli - It's more like an apple cider donut.
Theresa - I hate Peeps. I don't know why I keep trying them with you. You keep giving them to me and I keep saying "I don't like them. I don't like them."
Ian - You do it so you can have the thing that goes with them.
Joe - I really thought it would be better.
Jacob - Me too.

Joe - Grab a churro!
Theresa - I'm interested to see how these taste. Did you air fry them?
Joe - I just baked them. It was super easy.
Alli - I'll split one with you Ian.
Ian - No!

Joe - Wow! They're actually pretty good!
Ian - They're okay.
Jacob - They're extra cinnamon and sugary.
Joe - From going from frozen and then into the toaster oven, the inside are soft and fluffy and the outside got crunchy. To me, they taste like a fresh Disney churro where they're soft inside and crunchy outside.
Theresa - I wouldn't go quite that far.
Jacob - The texture is reminiscent of Disney.
Theresa - But they're really not bad. If you're looking for a churro and don't want to make it yourself...
Joe - I like these better than an old Costco Churro (when they still made it).
Alli - I might like the Peep better. Maybe they're even.
Ian - The Churro is way better.
Joe - Yeah, the churro is better than the Peep.

A wild Churro Peep sitting on a cinnamon sugar Churro branch.

Then taking a shower in a cinnamon sugar rain.
I rolled the exposed marshmallow of the Peep in our cinnamon sugar powder.
Alli - It tastes like Dentyne Fire Gum.
Jacob - That's a better cinnamon flavor.
Joe - Yeah, it's better with more cinnamon and sugar on it.
Ian - Try it Mommy!
Theresa - I just don't like Peeps or Peeps texture.

Well they weren't the best Peeps we've tried this season, but they weren't bad. There's just one more flavor of Peeps that we have to try before Easter is over!

  1. The 5-minute churro w/ the added cinnamon/sugar dusting sounds like the winner against the latest Peeps flavor. Surprised the churro tasted as good as it did! I wonder if Ian was onto something with his comment, "You do it so you can have the thing that goes with them!" :-) :-) A three-eye Peeps has now officially invaded the Peeps colony! EOM
