Alli's State Gymnastics Meet - 2026/04/12

It's been a busy weekend getting here, but it's finally time for Alli's Gymnastics State Meet! We've been preparing for this all year!

This meet is a bit different than some of the other. For the others, her entire gymnastics team all competes at the same time, so all the girls are watching and cheering for each other. Today though, things are broken up by age range, so the girls started competing yesterday and will continue through tonight. Alli is in round 8 of 9, being one of the older girls on her team.

We got checked in. Athletes getting a goodie bag.

And parents, siblings, and other friends all paying a separate entrance fee.

We've had lots of visitors come for Alli's different meets. Today, Jacob and Nicole drove 1:45 from Clermont to come watch!

We're lucky to have so many friends and family to come support us!

Alli running out by herself while they announced our gym.

Getting ready for her floor routine.

It's Alli's favorite event. It's a bit like a dance.

Vault is one of her highest scoring events.

Today she put up a 9.8!

We've had a really good season on bars, never failing to complete the spin around the bar.

But there's always a first time. Unfortunately it had to be at state. Sadly a bad score here really knocked her down in the all-around standings.

The balance beam is something she was very nervous about going into the season. Before she joined the team, when she was learning gymnastics skills, she had a bad fall off the beam. She's really overcome her fears though and has performed great!

Her standings overall were:
Vault - 3rd place, 9.8
Balance Beam - 4th place, 9.75
Floor - 6th place, 9.350
All Around - 10th place

Thanks for coming to watch and cheer!

We stayed and watched the final round of athletes, then stayed for the final team awards. Alli is a part of a really good team. The top 3 scores for each event count towards the team score. Alli's 9.8 Vault score contributed to that score, so while she was disappointed with her uneven bars and overall standing, she was really happy that she helped the team.
And the team did so good, taking first place in their division!

Congratulations girls! All that dedication and hard work really paid off! Thank you to all the coaches, parents, siblings, extended family and friends for making this a great season!

After a day of gymnastics, we're all hungry! Before the drive home, we stopped in to Olive Garden for a celebratory meal. Alli can't get enough of their unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks.
It's been a fun gymnastics season. In 8 weeks, we'll see if Alli can level up to the Silver XCEL gymnastics program! Lots more hard work to come!
