Doritos Late Night Sizzlin' Cheese Burger - Taste Test Comparison

It's time for another new Doritos flavor! Patrick found one called Late Night Sizzlin' Cheese Burger!

And for dinner, I'm making cheeseburgers to go with it to compare it against!

Which are they more excited about? The chips or the burger?

The chips themselves are an orangey color. Wonder how "cheesey" they'll taste versus other flavors you find in a cheeseburger.
I'm getting a roasted corn kind of smell. Theresa is thinking more BBQ smell

Late Night Flavors. One Bold Crunch. Taste The Night.
I know there's also another Late Night Doritos flavor called Loaded Taco.

There's no picture of a real burger on the front of the bag. Just a faux neon sign line-art drawing of a burger that seems to feature cheese, hamburger, lettuce, and a sesame seed bun.
My homemade burgers have hamburger, white cheddar, tomato, and onion.

The real question is, how do the chips taste?
Mickey - I'm not getting much of a flavor.
Joe - It's a pretty muted flavor. Not very bold.
Theresa - Is that a horseradish flavor?
Joe - I'm getting more taco flavor maybe.
Theresa - It's a little sour. Like a vinegar.

Patrick - I'm getting a pickle flavor.
Joe - Maybe that's what I taste. Pickle.
Alli - I don't like them. Do you want the rest of my chips?
She was very content to have freshly cut watermelon with her burger instead.

The ingredient list isn't much help, with many flavors hiding behind the "Natural and Artificial Flavors" moniker. Huh, they actually used Beef Fat in these chips.
Well, they weren't amazing. Sadly, the Sizzlin' Cheese Burger chips did not connect with us, but it's always fun to give something new a try.

  1. Looks like the Sizzlin' Cheese Burger Chips seemed to do more fizzlin' than sizzlin' ;-) Well, everyone gave it a good try...too bad they were a disappointment. The filling homemade cheeseburger (and fresh watermelon) more than made up for it, though :-) EOM
