Candy Pop Twix Popcorn taste test

On a recent trip to Sams Club, I found a giant bag of popcorn that looked perfect for a taste test. It's Twix Popcorn!

Today we'll be tasting it along side a regular Twix Bar. It's the superior Left Side Twix, which are clearly better than the stuff coming out of the Right Twix factory.

Inside the bag are pieces of popcorn drizzled with chocolate and caramel. The bag also claims that these are candy coated and also contain chopped up Twix Bars. I found a few pieces that didn't have any drizzle on them and they didn't taste candy coated to me. Just regular fluffy popcorn. Others might have had a super light kettle corn flavor, but calling it candy coated is a stretch. Additionally I didn't see anything big enough to be considered a Chopped Twix in here. Pretty much just the drizzle.

I cut one of the two Left Twix bars into fourths and gave everyone a portion of popcorn to try with it.

What's your favorite kids? Both thought the Twix candy bar was better.
In this case, I'm going to disagree with them. I like the light fluffiness of the Twix popcorn better than the Twix bar. It's similar to the Popcornopolis Zebra Popcorn but much less sweet. Twix Popcorn has 128 calories a cup, while Zebra Popcorn has 240 calories in a cup.

If you're a fan of caramel and chocolate popcorn, pick this one up and give it a try!

  1. Seems like each kernel should have some part of the coating...regardless, sounds like a delicious combination of caramel & chocolate (over Christmas I tried chocolate popcorn for the first time, and it was really good...to my surprise the popcorn was still light, fluffy & "crispy" (not chewy) despite being covered by the milk chocolate!) EOM

    1. Which brand did you end up trying?
I found another flavor popcorn from the same company that we'll be sampling and writing about soon. And it's based on another treat I love.

    2. I think the person who brought it to the Christmas party said it was from "Girl Scouts." But when I looked it up I couldn't find any pictures that did any justice to what I ate that night. The bag was just silver foil without any markings...maybe it was part of a bigger package that was marked???? EOM
