Cinnamon Toast Crunch Creamy Spread taste test comparison

Cinnamon Toast Crunch with another new item? I mean, we've tried so many different ones before, we've got to try one more! So so much Cinnamon Toast Crunch things

And whenever the need arises, I like to bake a fresh loaf of bread to go along with it. If we're having Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, freshly baked bread with cinnamon sugar is going to be perfect!
But today instead of cinnamon sugar, Cinnamon Toast Crunch has given us a Creamy Cinnamon Spread to go on top!

Bread making is always easier with a mixer. I don't get to have one in the RV (too much weight for not enough usage), but my mom's trusty Kitchenaid has stood the test of time. I remember using it to make cookies when I was little!

After combining all the ingredients, letting the dough proof, then rolling out the dough and making loaves, it's ready to bake!

Yum! Fresh bread baking is a smell I can never get enough of.

The Creamy Spread has a frosting kind of look to it.

It spread similar to frosting. The color is not particularly appetizing, but I not sure which other way I would have gone with it to make it better.

Let's start by trying the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, just to give everyone a reminder of what they are.

Patrick - That tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Megan - I love the cereal.
Avery - I love it!

Theresa - That's just a tasty sweet snack. It's not a cereal I want to eat with milk, but a dry snack, it's tasty. Like a cinnamon sugar cracker.

Patrick - The first ingredient is brown sugar.
Cheers from around the table.
Patrick - Cinnamon is the fifth ingredient.
For those curious it's Brown Sugar, Canola Oil, Skim Milk, Palm Oil, Cinnamon, Soy Lecithin, Natural Flavor, Salt.

Mickey - That's sweet.
Theresa - Don't put too much on. Pop Pop says it's sweet and he eats really sweet cereal.
Ian - That's weird.
Theresa - Aww, is it not good? What do you think Alli?
Alli - Weird.

Avery - I love it!
Megan - I love it too.
Theresa - Have you tried this one already?
Patrick - We might have already had a jar of it.

Pop Pop - Sugar high! Oh my goodness!
Avery - I love it!
Theresa - Avery likes her sweets.
Ian - Can I try the bread alone?

Theresa - It reminds me of frosting. Like straight up frosting for a cake.
Mickey - It does.
Sheila - That's yummy.
Theresa - Or the frosting you put on a sugar cookie.
Joe - I don't love it.
Theresa - Like lard and sugar. (her descriptions are sounding worse and worse)
Sheila - When have you eaten lard and sugar?
Theresa - It has the texture and mouth feel of shortening.

Now Patrick is going all in on the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. A piece of bread with the CTC Creamy Spread, plus CTC cereal, and then the CTC Cinnadust on top!

Tasty Patrick?
Mickey - It's Patrick before he starts pinging off the walls.
Theresa - The cereal is way better.
Sheila - I like the spread better than the cereal.

Now lets try the bread by itself, or with butter.
Mickey - Gram likes a little bit of bread with her butter.
Sheila - The best one is the bread with butter. Butter, spread, cereal is my order.
Mickey - I like butter on the bread better.

Mickey - Quack quack.
Ha! Ian remembers giving Pop Pop all this crusts from the Sour Dough loaves we got at Disneyland. Ian was originally going to feed them to the ducks, but Pop Pop loves them too!
Sheila - That was a good taste test!
So, if cinnamon cake frosting sounds like something you'd like to spread on your bread, pick up a jar of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Creamy Cinnamon Spread! Some of us loved it. Some of us didn't care so much for it, but if you're a cinnamon fan, why not give it a try?

  1. Oh my goodness...Patrick created a triple "Cinnamon Toast Crunch SWEET Treat" for himself...he definitely loves his CTC flavor! The spread looked like creamy peanut butter in color and texture to me.; but "Lard & Sugar" and "Texture & mouth feeling of shortening" makes me think 'Yikes!' Quite a mixed range of opinions on the CTC spread. Like that tongue twister, "butter on the bread better" :-) Yes, the aroma of baking fresh bread just can't be beat! That KitchenAid definitely stood the test of time since it was used during your childhood days. Funny Pop Pop...quack, quack...and Ian responded right on cue :-) EOM
