Magic Kingdom Visit - 2021/12/08

Catching up on old trips.

Today's visit to the Magic Kingdom is just a short one. Our annual passes are going to be blocked out soon and we're getting as many visits in as we can. After the kids finished school, we hopped in the car and arrived at the Magic Kingdom by 3:30pm. We've got to leave early today too, so there's not that many hours to explore. That's okay. We'll do some fun things anyway.

Our first stop today is something we haven't done in a long time. Our timing was perfect and we walked right into the Mickey's Philharmagic Theater without waiting in the queue at all! I love the addition of Coco to the show.

Instead of getting toys and things for their birthdays (which won't fit so easily in the RV), they get Disney money. They can use it on Disney treats, almost whenever they want to.

Next we took a visit to the Enchanted Tiki Room! Even though it opened with the park, we love it.

Alli, I remember sitting with you right here, in this exact row, when you were a baby. We'd sit through show after show while you rested, trying to take a nap on me.
I do miss that they edited the show to take out the "Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing" where the audience gets to sing along. That's one of the best parts!

It's birthday money, so if Ian wants to spend $4 on a single popsicle, then I won't grumble too much when he wants to spend his money on it. Even though you can get a whole box of them from Walmart for $4, it's still not the same.

Space Mountain had a short wait, and the kids loved it.

At the end, where they show your picture, if you get there at the very beginning, you don't get the "Photopass" overlay and can get a clean picture. One of these times I'll get them looking at the camera.

Barnstormer had a short line.

And so did Dumbo. It's the first time we've gone it since we got to Florida. The kids really want to explore the play area in the queue. One of these days we will.

Hi Mommy!

Towards the end of the night, the lines for lots of things get short. The Mad Tea Party teacups are a walk-on!

Look at all those empty teacups. One of these times Theresa will ride with us, if we promise not to spin it at all.

For our final ride today, we're going to ride Winnie the Pooh. It's one of Theresa's favorite rides back in California. I think they do an even better job with it here in Florida.

We're leaving early tonight because tonight we have a special visitor coming! Uncle Donald! He's coming from the airport and will be arriving at 9pm. We've got to hustle to get back to the RV to meet him!

  1. What a nice picture with Uncle Donald!...is that a special welcome heart note for him?...how sweet! For a short visit to the MK, the family fit in lots of attractions...surprised there were so many short lines for a December day. Space Mountain, another roller coaster conquered by Alli & Ian!! (I never managed to get off that ride without feeling sick...gave up trying to ride it after ~4 different tries on 4 different visits!) Didn't know the "Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing" got edited out...how unfortunate (people don't know what they're missing :-( )...the Enchanted Tiki Room is such a classic attraction. EOM
