Applewood Smoked Cheddar Wavy Pringles

There's no question that we love Pringles. Way back in December we had a taste test where we tested 19 unique flavors of Pringles! So when my brother Patrick found a new flavor of Pringles that I haven't tried yet, he bought it and made sure I got it.

Today we're tasting Applewood Smoked Cheddar Wavy Pringles!

And when we're tasting things, I like to try to find what it's supposed to taste like. It's not enough to find Smoked Cheddar Cheese. It was a goal to find Applewood Smoked Cheddar. Luckily for me, Red Apple Cheese is sold in our local Jon's supermarket.

When you look at the chips, they aren't quite as orange as the picture above.

I cut up a few slices of the Applewood Smoked Cheddar to taste along side the Wavy Pringles.

What do you want to taste first guys?
Ian - The cheddar!
They both took a bite, said "yum!" but then gave it another second.

Alli - It tastes like wood!
They changed their minds pretty quickly. Big thumbs down on the cheese.
I thought it tasted good, as did Theresa. Though Theresa did say she preferred smoked gouda to smoked cheddar.

Time for the chips.
The chips, they loved, which might give you an idea as to how smoky they taste.
It's a strong cheddar flavor, with the tiniest hint of smoked wood.
The thing I still can't get over is the texture. These Wavy Pringles are too think. Despite being fresh, they taste stale. The flavor is fine, but I wish Pringles could figured out how to make them not taste old.
