A Pringles Comparison - 19 different kinds of Pringles sampled

When the family is in town, the big taste tests come out. Today we're sampling every single Pringle that I could find. 19 different flavors! Like when we tried 17 different M&Ms, 12 unique Lay's Chips, or dozens of Kit Kats.
Thank you Jess for organizing these by color for the picture.

From left to right, top to bottom, there's Jalapeño, Cheddar & Sour Cream, Sour Cream & Onion, Original, Cheddar Cheese, Salt & Vinegar, Pizza, Mystery (Ham & Cheese), Chile y Limon, Wavy Jalapeño, Wavy Salted, Wavy Sweet & Tangy BBQ, Ranch, Fried Onion Ring, Honey Mustard, BBQ, Screamin' Dill Pickle, Extra Hot Chili & Lime, and Roasted Turkey.

This is the most Pringles I've seen in one location besides the grocery store.

Normally I'd have everyone try each kind and we'd discuss it, but with 15 people here and 19 different flavors, instead we're going to pop all the tops and everyone can go crazy.

Looks like a healthy breakfast.

Quack!

Everyone has their favorites but here's a rundown of all the flavors, in alphabetical order.

BBQ - I like BBQ chips, but for some reason I don't like these BBQ chips. I'm more of a KC Masterpiece style BBQ chip I suppose.
Cheddar & Sour Cream - These were delicious! I normally prefer the Sour Cream & Onion Pringles as my go to chip, but with the addition of cheese they're made even better.
Cheddar Cheese - There's nothing wrong with cheddar cheese chips.

Chile y Limon - A spicy chip with a hint of lime. Based on the writing, I think these were for a Mexican market.
Extra Hot Chili & Lime - I thought these might just be the American version of the one above, but they were a different color flavor powder (bright red versus orange) and they tasted spicier to me.
Fried Onion Ring - Thank Patrick for finding this one. Unfortunately the flavor didn't really come through. Just a plain chip to me.
Ham & Cheese (Mystery) - Also thank you Patrick for finding it. Some hadn't read my report on the Mystery Pringles from earlier and made their guesses. Grilled Cheese? Bacon? All good guesses.

Honey Mustard - If you like honey mustard sauce, these are for you. They got the flavor right on with this one.
Jalapeño - Spicy but not too spicy.
Original - Just a plain salted chip.
Pizza - Hints of cheese and hints of marinara on these.

Ranch - They do taste like ranch.
Roasted Turkey - This was a limited edition flavor. I'll have another post on it coming up.
Screamin' Dill Pickle - If you like pickles, you'll like these. They're sour and don't hold back on that pickle flavor.
Salt & Vinegar - Normally I don't care for Salt & Vinegar chips. The vinegar is more subtle on these than most chips, so I don't hate them.
Sour Cream & Onion - My old standby. A nice tang and good flavor

There's a reason I grouped all these Wavy chips together instead of going by flavor. To quote Theresa, "The Wavy Pringles, whatever they did, they got it wrong. They all taste stale." Perhaps it's because we're used to Pringles being a certain thickness and any more just feels wrong. I won't disagree though. They did taste stale to me too, even though they were all bought new 2 weeks ago. Flavors were all as we expected, but it was hard to get past the stale feeling.
Wavy Jalapeño
Wavy Salted
Wavy Sweet & Tangy BBQ

By having everyone sample whatever they wanted, the kids mostly skipped the spicy ones.
Hey Alli, come try one of these Jalapeño ones.
Good girl!

I'm sure there's flavors we haven't tried, but this is the result of 4 weeks of looking at a bunch of different stores, plus some help from my brother in Colorado for flavors I didn't find here in California.

  1. When I first read the title and then saw the opening photo, my first thought was, "Oh my goodness...the Mother of all Taste Tests!" (btw, the group photo behind the nicely arranged canisters could be a commercial shot for Pringles, saying "We're a Pringles Family"!) That was a clever "quack" imitation...who thought of that one? Stale chips are one of those "yucky-tasting" flavors I remember from my youth :-) Brave Alli shows us what a "tentative-wary-hope I don't regret this" bite & expression looks like :-)...but maybe she did enjoy the spiciness? What a "wild", fun taste test session! EOM

    1. I thought this one was pretty good. I'm going to be topping it though when Christmas comes along!
I'm pretty sure that was Megan who thought of that Quack. It was cute.
I like it when Alli is bold. She even told me the next day that she wanted those jalapeno pringles for breakfast. Guess she likes spicy!
