I can tell you, Alli was excited to see this one coming. Snickers are her favorite candy bar! We've previously tried Candy Pop M&M minis popcorn, Twix popcorn, and Cookie Pop Oreo popcorn.
Today we're doing another Candy Pop version with Snickers popcorn!
And along with the popcorn, we'll have what the Mars company calls "The World's Most Popular Candy Bar", the Snickers bar. US candy sales rank it 3rd though, behind M&Ms and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
The back says that there's a Snickers candy coating and light fluffy popcorn.
The pictures of the popcorn certainly look well coated. The ingredient list shows that there's Chopped Snickers Bars, Peanuts, and Dry Roasted Peanuts.
The reality is that there isn't all that much candy coating on these. I pulled out a few of the best pieces as an example. And try as I might, I couldn't find any of those chopped up Snickers or peanuts.
But Alli is still super excited to try them.
Compared to what's inside the Snickers bar. It's made of chocolate, nougat, peanuts and caramel.
The popcorn, I would have a hard time guessing that it was Snickers flavored if I hadn't known ahead of time. Maybe more of a chocolate peanut butter popcorn.
But the kids don't care either way. They liked the popcorn, but they loved the Snickers bar even more.
Disappointed to hear of the missing chopped Snickers and peanuts, along with the faint coating on the popcorn!...good thing the real Snickers bar was there to fill the void :-) At least Ian & Alli enjoyed the Snickers popcorn. Hey Alli, my favorite candy bar growing up was Snickers, too! EOM
