Disney Treats at Home - Mickey Rice Krispy Treats

I guess it's been about a month now since we last had some homemade Disney Treats at home. So far it's been Mint Juleps and Mickey Beignets, Marshmallow Wands, Caramel Apples, and Chocolate Apples, Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars and Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches, Napa Rose with their Signature Pizzetta, Truffled Mac & Cheese, Filet Mignon, and bread basket, Smoked Turkey Legs and Chili Lime Buttered Corn on the Cob, and Corn Dogs and Churros

Today's Disney Treat isn't going to be nearly as involved as some of those other ones. We're going to make Mickey shaped Rice Krispy Treats!

It doesn't take too much. A little bit of butter, vanilla, and a bag of mini-marshmallows.

To that we add our Rice Cereal and then stir it all up!

Alli wants to help.

Those are going to be perfect Alli!

Yum!

It's always a treat to lick the spatula.

Ian came running to get some too.

Theresa used parchment to get everything squished together formed to the proper height.

A couple hours later, these had cooled off. Ready for cutting.

Use all your power Alli! Look at that determination.

Greasing the cutters with butter helped them slide out better.

Perfect! Let's make more!

Naked Rice Krispy Treats. We'll need to dress them up a little.

For that, we're going to use some chocolate chips and melt them over a double boiler.

Just a splash of oil and this will be liquid enough to dip.

And if we have any extra, I'm sure we can find some fruits around here and have a little bit of chocolate fondue.

It's Halloween-time, so we've added orange and black sprinkles to a couple. Black chocolate Mickey ears on a couple more, and then a few plain ones too.

The kids were ready to dig in, but first, a picture.

And you know what's better than having treats by yourselves?

Having treats with others!

We set up a Zoom call with our family from Michigan.

Rita made some pretty fancy Rice Krispy Treats on her side too.

Want a Mickey one?

The kids enjoyed their chocolate and sprinkle covered Disney Treats! Happy Halloween!

  1. What yummy (and pretty) Mickey Rice Krispy treats!...the black & orange sprinkles are perfect for the Halloween season! Was the heart design by Alli's request?...nice idea with the "leftover" rice krispy. The "sweet" spatula is a treat in itself :-) What a determined look on Alli's face...making sure she got her Mickey rice krispy just right! EOM

    1. The heart design was a Joe special, but Alli did love seeing it. When Alli puts her mind to something, she's determined. Having a brother who is two years older means she's seeing what's possible even if you're little, and she tries to do anything Ian does.
