Holiday Taste Test - Iced Gingerbread Cookie Pop Popcorn and Peppermint Hot Chocolate Candy Pop Popcorn

Another fun taste test! This is one that everyone will enjoy! So many people here love popcorn! And the people at Cookie Pop and Candy Pop have brought us two new flavors for the holidays!

From Cookie Pop we've got an Iced Gingerbread Popcorn, and from Candy Pop there's a Peppermint Hot Chocolate Popcorn. Both are looking great!
Theresa - I'm excited right now.
Joe - Richard this should be right up your alley.
Which do you think will be the best? Many think it's going to be the Peppermint Hot Chocolate, but we'll taste them and see!

Let's start with the Iced Gingerbread! Gingerbread is such a delicious flavor that I always associate with the holidays. I've been making my own gingerbread at home since I got a recipe from a friend back in 2014

At last America. Two of our favorite snacks are joined together in Amazing Deliciousness. Light fluffy popcorn, icing and gingerbread cookie pieces.

Theresa - It's got like a white chocolate icing on it.
Donald - I do like it!
Rita - It doesn't have an artificial flavor. It tastes like real gingerbread.

Wait, so there's actually pieces of gingerbread cookies in here. Looking through the popcorn, yes, there really are bits of cookies here. They weren't so easy to find though.

Looking into the bag, there are a whole lot of pieces of cookie that didn't stick to the popcorn.

And dumping it onto the plate, there's a whole lot of cookies here. The cookies themselves are crunchy and tasty, but it's a shame that so many of them didn't actually stick to the popcorn.
Richard - I think that gingerbread popcorn is great.
Donald - The cookie pieces make it more better.
Theresa - Ooh, this one has lots of pieces and lots of drizzle. That's a good one.
Jared - I could eat that all day long.
Tyler - It's definitely more flavorful when you have the cookie pieces with it.

Moving on, let's give the Peppermint Hot Chocolate Popcorn a try.
We can see it has been coated with drizzles of chocolate and crushed peppermint.

At last America. Two of our favorite treats are joined together in amazing deliciousness. Light fluffy popcorn with hot chocolate drizzle and peppermint candy pieces.

Amy and Donald were on hand to make Peppermint Hot Chocolate for anyone who wanted it. Yum! Love the crushed peppermint to sprinkle on top.

Ian - That's good!
Donald - That's delicious. Wow. That's really good.
Alli - Peppermint Hot Chocolate wins!
Amy - It's very pepperminty. It's good, but if I was going to sit down and eat a whole handful of this, I'd want the gingerbread.
Ethan - I definitely like the Peppermint better. I don't like gingerbread.
Jared - I feel like if you eat too much of it, you'd get sick of it.
Joe - It's a good flavor. Not a toothpaste flavor.
Tyler - It's not an overpowering peppermint taste. It's a smooth, subtley taste.

Now that everybody has had a chance to try them all, what are the favorites?
Iced Gingerbread - Joe (I like it cause it's unique for the holidays), Alli, Ian, Amy (I like that the gingerbread tastes good and not artificial), Jared, Theresa (I like the iced gingerbread MUCH better. The chocolate drizzle popcorns just aren't my thing.)
Peppermint Hot Chocolate - Rita, Ethan, Richard, Chi, Tyler, Donald.

It's tied 6 to 6. Aubrey, you are the deciding vote.
Aubrey - It's close, but I like the Peppermint Hot Chocolate.
There you have it! In a close vote, Peppermint Hot Chocolate wins over the Iced Gingerbread.
Theresa - But if you challenged me, I'm pretty sure I could eat both bags.

Donald - This is an enjoyable taste test!
Theresa - You say that like it's a surprise.
Donald - I'm just saying, like after the Reese's taste test, this one is a better one.
Joe - Ian, are you just eating gingerbread cookies...?

  1. I don't think Donald will ever forget (or forgive?) the Reese's taste test :-)...who can? :-) Both popcorn flavors sound good but I'll vote for the Gingerbread one (since I prefer a gingerbread cookie over a peppermint candy). Two favorite comments: "Ooh, this one has lots of pieces and lots of drizzle. That's a good one!" (like finding an unexpected treasure which she did); and "Not a toothpaste flavor" (now that's a good thing to know!). Definitely an enjoyable taste test! EOM
