GoGurt Hershey's Cookies 'N' Creme yogurt

Today we're taste testing a new yogurt from GoGurt and it happens to be flavored like one of Ian's favorite candy bars. Hershey's Cookies 'N' Creme.

And like usual, we'll taste it along with a real Hershey's Cookies 'N' Creme bar.

Each of the yogurt tubes has a fun fact written on it. They're really touting those cookies facts.

I was curious what the yogurt itself looked like outside the tube, so I squeezed a bit into a small dish. It makes it all the more clear how little yogurt (2 oz) is in each of these tubes compared to a regular container of yogurt (6 oz).

The Hershey's Cookies 'N' Creme bar. From this side it looks like a bit of creme. Taking a look at the back of the bar, it's got a whole bunch of cookie pieces.

Comparing the amount of cookies in the Hershey bar to the yogurt, I'm suddenly feeling not very hopeful for this yogurt delivering on its "Cookies" portion of its claim.

Let's start with the yogurt! It's nice to have this EZ Tear Technology so the kids can open these all by themselves.

The yogurt itself was very tangy. I was expecting a little more creamy vanilla flavor. That didn't stop the kids though. They loved the yogurt. But I feel like I'm missing something. Let's take a closer look.

I get the "creme", but what about those "cookies". I didn't get a single bit of crunch in any of the bits that I found in my yogurt. After separating a few of the bits from the yogurt, I tried them by themselves. No crunch. I think they're just fragments of chocolate. I gathered up a few more pieces and let them melt on the end of my finger. Yep, no cookie in here. It was all melted chocolate after it warmed up. The ingredient list confirms it. Chocolate, not cookies. Wonder how they're still calling it Cookies 'N' Creme.

Let's eat the candy bar!

The candy bar is tasty and crunchy. Lots of these cookie bits scattered throughout. And yes, they are made of wheat flour and they actually crunch.

The GoGurt and the candy bar are both big hits. They love both!
And even though the GoGurt doesn't have the crunch I was looking for, it's not bad, and still a tasty yogurt.

  1. The cookie pieces on the back of the Hershey's bar reminded me of chocolate chips :-) Kind of strange the yogurt used chocolate bits instead of chocolate cookie pieces. Ian was definitely enjoying the candy bar! Wonder how much yummier the yogurt may taste if you mashed up some Oreo cookies (minus the creme) into it. Looks like another favorite Go Gurt flavor for the Flowers household. EOM
