National Chocolate Chip Day - May 15th

It's National Chocolate Chip Day! The chocolate chip is important enough to be celebrated twice a year, both today, May 15th, and also on Chocolate Chip Cookie Day on August 4th.

And it all started back in the 1930s when Ruth Wakefield was making a batch of chocolate cookies for her guests at the Toll House Inn.
Today we're celebrating with lots of different treats. The morsels by themselves, chocolate chip cookies (thanks Aunt Rita), Chocolate Chips Cookie Dough ice cream, and also Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. Yum!

Let's dig in kids! And yes, we've got two different kinds of morsels. Both the milk chocolate kind and semi-sweet. My favorite are the semi-sweet.

And Alli had a great idea too.
Alli - We should watch "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie!"
Good plan Alli. National Chocolate Chip day was tasty!

  1. Yum, yum, yum, yum all around!!! The homemade chocolate chip cookies (especially right out of the oven), the 2 types of chocolate chip ice cream (especially the mint one), and just the morsels themselves (I remember snacking on them out of the bag when I had a sweet craving one day :-) ) just can't be beat. Definitely a National Day worth celebrating! EOM
