Thanksgiving Treats - Boom Chicka Pop Fall Flavors

Today we're going to be trying a few seasonal flavors from Boom Chicka Pop. It's nearing Thanksgiving and it's time to try a few Fall Flavors.

Today we're tasting Candy Corn drizzled Kettle Corn, Buttery Caramel popcorn, and Pumpkin Spice drizzled Kettle Corn.
You can always help me out Alli.

Back in 2002, Angie and Dan Bastian were selling their Kettle Corn in Minnesota outside the Minnesota Vikings stadium. After a lot of hard work, their product was a hit and they were acquired by Conagra Foods in 2017. Now you can find their popcorn across the entire United States!
Their mission was to create snacks with lots of flavor and none of the guilt. With bright colorful bags, they try to spread love and positivity. You can even find hidden notes underneath the seams on the back of each bag.

Are you guys ready to... Hey! Don't start without me!

Our first flavor is Pumpkin Spiced Drizzled Kettle Corn.
Hidden Message on the back - "Thanksgiving - The one time each year it's acceptable to spend three days cooking a meal you'll eat in 30 minutes."
You can see there's a whole lot of spice on these popped kernels.

A little too much spice for Theresa. It's overwhelming her Pumpkin Spice meter.
I thought they were pretty delicious. I would have sworn there was a creaminess to the flavor too. Looking at the ingredients I see milk powder, so maybe that's what I'm tasting.

Maybe not exactly a Fall Flavor, but Buttery Caramel Popcorn always comes in those giant popcorn tins, so I'm going to count it.
Hidden Message on the back - "Life just doesn't get much butter than this!"
You can go a couple different directions with caramel popcorn. It can be a light sweet caramel similar to what Popcornopolis does. Or it can be a darker caramel, think more burnt flavor, like Cracker Jack. I wouldn't say this is quite to the Cracker Jack level, but it's on that side of the scale. You can think of it like Cracker Jack without peanuts.

For our final popcorn, we'll be trying a Candy Corn Flavored drizzled Kettle Corn.
Hidden message on the back - "It's ok to buy a new back-to-school wardrobe every Fall, even if you haven't been a student for years."

This one is already got its work cut out for it. Around Halloween we tried some pretty delicious Candy Corn popcorn from Popcornopolis
Does Candy Corn taste like anything other than sugar?
These have a sweet taste to them. They're Kettle Corn so it's going to be sweet either way, but there's an orange drizzle of extra sweetness to go on top.

Time to vote!
Not surprisingly, the kids chose the Candy Corn popcorn. They love the sweetness of the Kettle Corn.
For me, I'm going to go with the Pumpkin Spice. I think this Fall 2020 season in particular, I didn't have nearly as much Pumpkin Spice as I might normally. That's my pick out of these three.
And what about Theresa?

Forget all three of those flavors. She's pulling out a bag of Popcornopolis's Candy Corn. That one is better than any of these three.

  1. Theresa had her own write-in vote since none of the 3 candidates were up to par :-) Actually, all 3 flavors sound tasty to me! Very interesting background on the creators of the popcorn...also liked the little "notes" on the back of the packages (never knew that!...makes the packaging that much more unique and "down-to-earth") EOM
