Southern Hill Farms - All the Blueberry Treats Taste Test

Earlier we got to pick fresh strawberries and blueberries. But the folks at Southern Hill Farms also have a food truck with lots of tasty blueberry treats that they've already made up. And today we're going to try them all! Yep! Every single blueberry item that the Southern Hill Farms Bakery makes!

I'm even more excited about this one than I am the strawberry treats that we tried earlier this year. Yes, we'll have one of everything!

For our first treat, something cool and refreshing. A Handcrafted Frozen Blueberry Lemonade ($4.00).

Ian thought the Frozen Blueberry Lemonade tasted great. It's tart and a little fruity. It tastes like blueberries.

Next, we're have a Blueberry Cheese Galette ($5.50). Rustic pastry with blueberry & cream cheese filling.

Rita - The galette is really good.

Joe - Mmm, that crust is fantastic.
Theresa - That one might be my favorite.

I mean, you can't have blueberry baked goods and not have a Blueberry Muffin. $1.50 each, $8 for 6, or $15 for 12.

Aubrey - The muffin is good. I like it a lot.
Rita - I like the cake part. It's really good.

We've had a frozen lemonade, but what about a Homemade Blueberry Lemonade popsicle ($2.50).

Definitely homemade. I was glad these were frozen hard because this stick looks precariously placed.

Alli loves popsicles. She held onto it, giving people tastes. It has a light blueberry flavor.

And when the giant blueberries pop out, they leave a bit hole in the popsicle.

How about blueberry donuts ($1.50 each). Prices for donuts have gone up since we bought the strawberry donuts 4 weeks ago at $1 each.

Theresa thought all these cakey donuts tasted the same. The strawberry ones, these ones. It's just like a cider donut. They're good, especially when fresh, but the fruit has a hard time coming through.

Theresa - I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an apple cider, blueberry, or strawberry one if you put them all out in front of me.
I think it does have a slight blueberry flavor, but she's right. It's a cake donut with lots of sugar on it.

There's also a Blueberry Cobbler with ice cream ($4.50).

It's interesting. Why is there pineapple though in my blueberry cobbler? Is that a thing? It overpowers the blueberry even.

Someone just likes ice cream.

And lastly a Blueberry Cookie ($3.00). Oatmeal and white chocolate chips, topped with blueberries.

Apart from being fairly expensive, especially considering the size, this was our least favorite treat. The blueberries just seemed out of place here. I've had good oatmeal cookies, and I've had oatmeal cookies with raisins in them (eww). This didn't connect.

Theresa - I don't care for that cookie. I would never buy that again.
Rita - That's not even a good oatmeal cookie. It's very floury. Like a raw flour flavor.

Favorites today are:
Blueberry Cheese Galette - Rita, Joe, Theresa
Blueberry Muffin - Aubrey
Blueberry Lemonade Popsicle - Alli
Frozen Blueberry Lemonade - Ian

The Blueberry Muffin was the 2nd favorite of Theresa, Rita, Alli, and myself, so overall, that ranks right up there with the Blueberry Galette.

That was 7 different blueberry treats that we got to try today!
Theresa - I'd buy everything again, except for the cookie. I liked the blueberry products a lot more than I liked the strawberry products.
Rita - Except the strawberry sundae. That was good.
