A Visit to the Magic Kingdom with Megan, Patrick, and Avery - Pt1 - 2022/01/20

We've got visitors here in Florida! Yesterday we spent the day at Epcot, and today we're going to hang out at the Magic Kingdom!

The night before, I made some Caramel Crack for us to enjoy at the parks. This is going to be better than any popcorn.

Forget mornings at the park. We like late evenings better. That's why we're showing up at 12:30!

The Monorail is a great way to enter the park!

We're walking right down the middle of Main Street USA!

There's a horse drawn trolley coming our way too!

And our favorite characters from Winnie the Pooh are taking a ride and waving to guests.

What a great castle!

For our very first ride here, let's go check out the People Mover!

It's a fun ride that lets you see different areas around the park.

From the People Mover, we could see all the cars at the Tomorrowland Speedway. Let's go for a ride!

Ian is taking Uncle Patrick for a drive.

And I rode with Alli. We were a little all over the place driving down the track.
Alli - I think the steering wheel is broken.
I took over for a little bit, and I could totally tell what she meant. The wheel was so loose that you'd try to correct for a turn and it would be a long time before the car actually reacted.

All of us love traveling, so let's take a trip around the world on it's a small world!

Doesn't matter if they're in different rows. They still like to be close.

How about a treat? Today is warm, so a Dole Whip sounds delicious!
The kids really wanted a Raspberry and Pineapple swirl float. Theresa got a regular Dole Whip Float, and I got a Tropical Serenade. It has POG juice, coconut soft serve, and an upside-down pineapple cake pop. The cast member who made these did the best job we've ever seen. There's very little juice and frozen soft serve all the way down to the bottom.

Patrick scouted us a table in the shade so it doesn't melt so fast.

Patrick got a regular Dole Whip and got the dreaded "void of disappointment".

Megan too.

My Tropical Serenade had a small one.

How was the cake pop?

Meh, just okay. It's not something I would seek out again.

After taking Avery on Mission Space and Test Track yesterday and getting a very good response, let's give Big Thunder Mountain a try! Of the coasters here at the Magic Kingdom, it's fairly tame.

I forgot how loud it can be. At the end, Avery kept repeating "I hate that ride, I hate that ride." Why though? "Too fast, too fast, too fast."
Hmm, now I'm having second thoughts about taking her on Space Mountain.

After a ride on Pirates, let's go on something tame. The Enchanted Tiki Room is here. That will be perfect.

And Megan pulled out the Caramel Crack. It was just as good as the first time I made it. This is a good recipe.

It's a fun show. On her first visit to Disneyland, Avery really enjoyed this one. She liked it this time too.
We've had a busy afternoon. Let's take a break for dinner. We'll pick up from there next time.

Thank you Megan for all the video clips.

  1. Fun to watch (and hear) the video clips by Megan along with the still photos...so much fun (well, except Big Thunder for Avery) on so many varied attractions. Like how Winnie & Friends greeted everyone early on in the MK visit...nice way to start the day. The Tropical Serenade looked and sounded delicious...thought the pineapple cake pop was going to be yummy, too...oh well. See Patrick giving that look at Megan when she began munching on the Caramel Crack, as if he's saying,"Hey, save me some!" :-) Alli and the "broken steering wheel" reminded me of the "broken bike" problem she had during one of those early bike rides...guess she knows what she's really saying :-) P.S. Don't know where you got the energy & time to make the yummy Caramel Crack after such a full day at Epcot! EOM
